When thousands of people donate no more than $100 per person per election, we can build a campaign without money from special interests. _______________________ But it's about more than money. We need your energy and your enthusiasm, too. Sign up to volunteer on Jim Hansen's campaign for Congress.

Jim Hansen, a candidate for U.S. Congress 2nd District, said Thursday he is disappointed that voters won’t have another opportunity before Election Day to hear him and his opponent, four-term incumbent Mike Simpson, discuss important issues facing the nation together. Hansen thanked Mark Johnson of KTVB Channel 7 for offering to bring the two candidates together for this Sunday’s “Viewpoint,” a weekly civic affairs program. Simpson declined the invitation, apparently citing a scheduling conflict. If elected, Hansen said he would face his opponent in at least a dozen debates in towns throughout the 2nd District in the next election. Hansen said that frequent face-to-face debates and discussions among candidates help voters cast informed votes and encourage more participation in politics. He and Simpson debated Oct. 22 on Idaho Public, the only one-on-one meeting between the two candidates so far in this election.
